Red Giants Plan To Make It Three Wins In A Row

Selangor FC team will return to action for their 18th Super League 2021 game against Kedah Darul Aman FC tonight at the Darul Aman Stadium at 9 pm.

Malaysian Football League (MFL) has officially altered the Super League 2021 schedule after the Red Eagle completed their quarantine period instructed by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH).

Tonight is KDA FC's first match after the long ‘break’ but Karsten Neitzel, Selangor Head Coach does not consider it an advantage for the team.

"I don't think it matters how many games we or they have played because the result tonight will determine. What matters is that we have made the best preparations to face them tonight," he said.

"To me, the players now have enough confidence to play well after winning for the second time last week. If they continue to play with the same spirit, we will have a good chance of getting the next three points."

Talking about the preparations, Karsten and the coaches were grateful to have more time in preparing the team with the changes in schedule.

"The preparation this time I'm sure is better because we have more time to do it and it's not like the previous weeks. We've used it as best as we can with recovery activities, group, and individual video analysis sessions as well as planning the gameplay we want to play tonight. I hope the team will be ready and give a good commitment during the match," he added.

As for the players' availability, Selangor FC will miss Aliff Haiqal Lau in the starting line up who was injured during the match against Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) and the German towering defender, Tim Heubach (ankle injury) until they are fully recovered.

Meanwhile, three other Red Giants Halim Saari (ACL), Shahrel Fikri (ankle injury) and team captain Brendan Gan are undergoing a rehabilitation session with Selangor FC physio officers and are not expected to be with the team until the end of this season.

Selangor supporters, however, can breathe a sigh of relief after one of the Red Giants' key import players, Safuwan Baharudin is now back in the team's lap after being free from injury ahead of the meeting with the Red Eagle.

KDA FC is currently ranked 4th in the league with the same points collection as the Red Giants team who is in the 5th spot with 26 points with four games in hand and tonight's victory will give way to Selangor FC to leapfrog them.

Hopefully, Selangor FC will bring home these three valuable points tonight. Come on you, Red Giants!

Demi Kebanggaan.
